iPhone 6 users : Some iPhone 6 and 6+ users will no longer be able to access the Twitter app on their devices. The reason is, Twitter has stopped operating system support for its applications on devices that still use iOS 13.
In order to be able to use Twitter, the iPhone must at least run the iOS 14 operating system. The iPhone 6 itself was actually discontinued by Apple last year, but there are still a number of people who use this device as their primary device.
“We no longer support older versions. To experience the most up-to-date Twitter experience on iOS, download the latest version in the app store or visit twitter.com in your browser,” said Twitter.
The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus so far are still using the iOS 12.5.5 operating system. While Twitter will no longer support iOS 12 since 2021.
In other words, the iPhone 6 and other older iPhones can no longer be used to access Twitter via the app. The same thing is also experienced by iPhone 5s users who can no longer run the latest version of the Twitter application on their devices.
However, users can still access social media with the old version of the application, of course without being equipped with the latest features in the latest version. Furthermore, if the user still has an iPhone running iOS 13, the user can still get the latest version of the Twitter app by upgrading the operating system to iOS 15,
According to Apple in January 2022, 63% of iPhone devices on the market are already using iOS 15. While the other 93% are still using iOS 14 or later versions, and only 7% of iPhone users are still running their devices on the older OS version.
