Officially Launched : After being preceded by various rumors, the first folding screen phone from Vivo, the Vivo X Fold, was finally officially introduced. In line with the news that has been circulating, Vivo X Fold carries a folding mechanism similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Series and Huawei Mate X2. That is, the main screen of the folding phone can be folded inward (inwardly) like a book.
The main screen is AMOLED E5 type with a size of 8 inches and a resolution of 1800 x 2200 pixels. Vivo also claims that this phone can be folded at an angle of 60 degrees or 120 degrees like a laptop. Vivo X Fold is also equipped with a secondary screen measuring 6.53 inches with an AMOLED panel. The screen is useful when the main screen of the phone is used in a closed state.
Despite having different sizes, the main screen and secondary screen of the Vivo X Fold both support a 120 Hz refresh rate and HRD10 +. On both screens there is a 16 MP selfie camera in a punch hole module, as well as an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that has been embedded under the screen. On the back of the Vivo X Fold there is a row of rear cameras that are loaded in a round module.
There are four cameras that adorn the back of this folding phone. It consists of a 50 MP main camera, a 48 MP ultrawide camera, a 12 MP telephoto camera (2x optical zoom), and an 8 MP “periscope” telephoto camera (5x optical zoom). The camera row also looks equipped with Zeiss technology, just like the Vivo X70 Series. That way, this folding phone can be equipped with a number of capable shooting modes such as Texture Portrait, Motion Capture 3.0, Zeiss Super Night Scene, Zeiss Nature Color and so on.
The Vivo X Fold hardware sector is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset combined with 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage media. The battery of this phone has a fairly large capacity, which is 4,600 mAh which supports fast charging of 66 watts. With this technology, Vivo claims that the folding cellphone battery can be charged from 0-100 percent in 37 minutes.
The Vivo X Fold foldable phone also supports wireless charging technology (wireless charging) with a power of 50 watts, and can charge other devices (reverse wireless charging) with a power of 10 watts. For software, this folding phone runs the Android 12 operating system (OS) which is polished with the Origin OS Ocean interface (UI). In China, the Vivo X Fold comes in black and blue color variants, and is sold at a price of 8,999 yuan or around Rp. 20.2 million. It is not yet certain whether this folding phone will be presented outside the Chinese market, including Indonesia, or not. Let’s just wait.
