The offline Google Maps feature will be present on Wear OS 3.5 which was released together with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 at the Galaxy Unpacked event a few days ago.
With Google Maps offline, smartwatch users no longer have to rely on their smartphones when navigating. The offline feature allows Google Maps to run independently, without having to be connected to a smartphone.
Besides being more practical, it is certain that the update will also save your device’s battery because it doesn’t have to be connected in real-time.
In addition, Wear OS 3.5 also brings a number of other changes. Google will give a new look to the Play Store and add support for other media apps in their smartwatch OS.
It’s not just the appearance that has been revamped, the new Play Store will also have custom recommendations and trending aps. The two new sections will make it easier for users to find new apps, in line with Google’s claim that it promises to increase the number of apps on Wear OS.
Not only that, the latest Wear OS provides support for Soundcloud and Deezer. The two applications will be present as native applications on Wear OS, including an offline feature that will allow users to play songs without having to connect to a smartphone. The update will start coming at the end of this year.
All of these updates will start rolling out to Wear OS 3.5 at the end of this year. Not only the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, all smartwatches based on Wear OS will also get the update. Interesting we wait!
