Some time ago, Black Shark has released two of its newest flagship smartphones dubbed Black Shark 5 and Black Shark 5 Pro in China.
The good news is that the two gaming phones are confirmed to be debuting in the global market in early June 2022, where the neighboring country (Malaysia) will be the first country to visit.
The global launch of the Black Shark 5 Series itself will be held on April 8 at 19.00 local time or 18.00 WIB.
Quoted, the launch event will be broadcast live streaming via Black Shark Malaysia’s official Facebook and TikTok accounts.
Regarding specifications, there is a possibility that the global version of the Black Shark 5 Series will be exactly the same as the variant marketed in China.
In China, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro both come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) which features a variable refresh rate of up to 144Hz.
The type of panel used by the two phones is the Samsung E4 AMOLED with a maximum brightness of 1300 nits, DC dimming, HDR10+, 100% P3 color gamut.
Both devices also have a touch sampling rate of 720 Hz and a dual zone pressure sensitive screen which is claimed to enhance the gaming experience.
Performance wise, the Black Shark 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage + 512GB SSD.
It is this combination of UFS + SSD storage that Xiaomi calls Disk Array 2.0 technology, and thanks to it the Black Shark 5 Pro’s read and write speeds have increased by 55% and 69% respectively over its predecessor.
Meanwhile, the regular Black Shark 5 is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC combined with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Both the Pro model and the regular model both pack a 4,650 mAh battery that is supported by 120W fast charging technology.
